WHAT HAPPENED?
According to reports from , discussions between Juventus and Newcastle are progressing, with the Serie A club edging closer to securing Kelly’s services. Initial talks suggested that Juventus were hoping to bring the defender in on a simple loan deal or at most with an option to buy. However, Newcastle have made it clear that they will only agree to a move if a mandatory purchase clause, between €15m (£12.5m/$15.5m) and €18m (£15m/$18.65m), is included in the agreement.

Kelly arrived at St. James’ Park last summer on a free transfer from Bournemouth but has found opportunities limited under Eddie Howe.
